MATTE AT ART WEEK CDMX 2025

For our 2025 Art Week celebrations in CDMX, we partnered with OMR Gallery & LagoAlgo.

The collaboration consisted of a co-presentation of the opening of Yann Gertsberger’s show “2 FEET IN 1 BUCKET OF ICE” at OMR Gallery on Tuesday night. His second show with OMR, these new works encompass Gerstberger’s multi-faceted practice, including paintings and tapestries produced with an original technique conceived by Yann himself.

An official afterparty followed at CDMX’s most famed MN Roy with international musicians & DJs including Parallelle, Eli Escobar, and Umami until the early hours.

On Wednesday, we co-presented the opening of LagoAlgo’s annual Art Week event. A group exhibition centered around cycles of displacement, both visible and invisible. Capítulo VII: Shifting Grounds places special emphasis on human impact on the environment, migration, identity, economic structures, and the action/inaction that leads to recurrences in these.

Artists include Adel Abdessemed, Julius von Bismarck, Pablo Davila, Alicja Kwade, Ho Tzu Nyen, Nohemi Perez, the creative duos Elmgreen & Dragset and Trix & Robert Haussmann, and the artist group Troika. An accompanying essay will be written by conceptual artist Mel Chin.
