The Context

A NEW SPORT ON THE SCENE

MATTE teamed up with the Pro Padel League to bring one of the world’s fastest growing sports to NYC. Our mission? Unite seasoned fans and newcomers in a celebration of sport and culture in the world’s busiest city.

The Approach

THE CITY MEETS PADEL

Design an experience that leveraged the sport’s high-energy elements and NYC’s sense of sophistication. Our goal was to immerse guests in an elevated yet approachable atmosphere where the intensity of competition existed as a cohesive element within the city’s glamour.

The Outcome

SMASH OF THE SEASON

MATTE turned the city into the ultimate stage for sport and celebration. With influencers and media providing live coverage, the event drew a packed crowd, ending in a court-side dance party and unforgettable moments that cemented padel’s rise in New York.

Visual Identity

Utilizing the existing Pro Padel League brand guidelines as our foundation, we created a bespoke event identity that extended into our digital footprint on the PPL website. The intention was to capture the energy and elevated elements of the event showcase the convergence of sport and luxury through design.

Experiential

MATTE transformed the Pro Padel League into a living, breathing experience. Through striking color accents, innovative material pairings, and sculptural, abstract forms, we created a bold, immersive environment that elevated the sport’s energy into an artful expression of grit and grace.
