The Context

A Standalone Label

The Prisoner Wine is a standalone name in the wine world. Their spirit is classified by a rebellious, rapacious energy which justifies flair and pomp.

The goal was to create an event that channeled the sophistication of the brand, infusing a sense of mystery and suspense while keeping the product at the center of the guest experience.

The Approach

Crafting Mystique

The approach began with venue selection; the Angel Orensanz Foundation for the Arts is a magnificent space, on the border of the Lower East Side and the East Village. The building’s immense history set the clocks back while adding sophistication. A mixture of materiality, lighting, traditional and contemporary fixtures, created a truly anachronistic space– one that drove intrigue and crafted a sense of mystery.

The Outcome

An Opulent Night

Guests arrive to The Angel Orensanz Building, guided by a glowing light with The Prisoner’s iconic ‘P’ logo. A mysterious play, building intrigue, and a welcome into the night ahead. The entryway was marked by four distinct plinths that displayed The Prisoner’s core range (Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Red Blend and Pinot Noir). Each plinth was custom designed, inspired by the flavor profile of the wine it displayed. A dramatic service performance established the evening’s tone with each drink. The tasting was hosted at long tables, with dishes and wines artfully presented as pairs. New media art displays broke up the space, giving guests the opportunity to discover and interact with the space. Upstairs was a hidden room, which guests discovered via a card that was slipped to them over the course of the evening where premium and limited bottles were available for tasting. Guests left with iconic memories from the evening via our premiere photo booth, doused in dramatic red. Twin sets from Claire Marie and Kristine Barilli cultivated the perfect sonic energy for the night.
