The Context

An NYC Collaboration

Eataly, a New York icon, approached MATTE for a dynamic series of projects to support their Eataly Loves New York initiative. Beginning with a social campaign, MATTE brought its creative and cinematic chops to a series of social videos that celebrated the city and captured a portrait of the pace of different flavors of our shared home. MATTE was an integral fit for the collaboration as New Yorkers ourselves, with a deep love of creating art in our city.

The centerpiece of the experience was an 18-hour event, combining the essences of various experiences into something only Eataly could serve up. From a Daybreaker rave, to the opening of a new Café, to a series of culinary producers sharing their best flavors with New Yorkers, to an art reveal and a dance party, the daylong saga was a New York moment unto itself, with MATTE supplying the experiential production support to bring it to life successfully.

The Approach

Getting the Word Out

Also in promotion of the experience, MATTE designed out-of-home wild postings that announced the experience with playful tongue-in-cheek illustrations that connected Eataly’s culinary offering with its celebration of locale.

The Outcome

Eataly and MATTE ♥ NY

The shared result of our social and OOH campaigns, and experiential production, was an 18-hour marathon event celebrating NYC that hosted 11K guests and 500 VIPS. In conclusion of the initiative, MATTE created recap materials and photography that captured the energy of the achievement for press and social.
