The Context

Setting Sail for the First Time

In March 2026, Four Seasons launched its first yacht from the port of Málaga, sixty-five years to the day after the opening of its first hotel. The maiden voyage of Four Seasons I marked the brand's entry into ultra-luxury yachting and one of the most significant brand extensions in its history. Four Seasons Yachts brought MATTE Projects on to give the moment its creative shape: a three-day launch that had to honor decades of hospitality legacy while announcing something entirely new.

The Approach

A Point of View for a Maiden Voyage

We developed "New Light" as the creative wrapper for the voyage, a point of view that held two stories at once: a brand setting sail for the first time, and the city sending it off. Málaga shaped the itinerary, the flavors, the music, and the shot list. Our scope spanned the naming ceremony and champagne break with Four Seasons founder Isadore Sharp, the opening night gala dinner aboard the yacht, creative direction of photo and video capture, and the guest journey across gifting, run of show, and itinerary flow.

The Outcome

A New Chapter Begins

Four Seasons I departed Málaga on March 20, 2026 with global press attention and a launch experience that matched the standard the brand has set on land for six decades. The voyage drew coverage across consumer travel and trade media, and the content captured under MATTE's creative direction now anchors the brand's storytelling as Four Seasons Yachts enters its inaugural season.
