As the leading media outlet covering the 2016 White House Correspondents’ Dinner in D.C., the Wall Street Journal held its annual pre-dinner and after-party receptions at the Hilton Hotel on Capitol Hill to serve as a sophisticated destination for politicos + attendees.
MATTE was brought on for the affair, revitalizing the evening’s creative with a new direction that achieved a beautifully designed, elegant and contemporary event with an unexpected point of view to capture the attention of both members of the press and celebrities alike. Notable attendees at the event included Adriana Lima, Karlie Kloss, Derek Blasberg, Lauren Santo Domingo, and Matthew Morrison.
MATTE devised a transformative space interior inspired by the concepts of Future Minimal and Miami Nostalgia. This was highlighted by the fabrication of engaging touch points, featuring projection mapping and motion graphics, lightbox walls amidst an immersive installation guests had to walk through for entry, as well as an A-1 Array photo booth.
