NYFW SPRING/SUMMER ‘17

NYFW Spring/Summer ‘17
has come to a close.

While many toasted the end with music from Cam'Ron, Le1f, May Kwok and Kirk Knight at Spring Place, MATTE reflects on the past two weeks we've spent supporting the production of over 35 Fashion Calendar listings.

Band of Outsiders, Demoo Parkchoonoo, A Détacher, Veronica Beard, Brock Collection, Jenny Packham, and more — MATTE bounced around Manhattan again this season with hair care brand Oribe, photographing the best of BTS beauty moments throughout the presentations of several NYC designers.

One look to another, we made a film at the New Museum, where McQ Alexander McQueen x Document Jounal joined forces, opening the week with the release of a short movie that aired at the British brand’s presentation.

We then went to the Boom Boom Room’s NYFW Opening Night party to film Nelly Furtado performing live. With our friend, film director Joachim Johnson, the city sky shined bright.

Lights, cameras, and a little photoshoot action later, MATTE moved to MADE where we supported Morgan Lane's fashion week debut by shooting the new season lookbook and filming the presentation at Milk Studios. Produced by INSTITUTE, the giant mushroom set was trippy and the night was lit.

When Anna Wintour enlisted CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalist and menswear brand Rochambeau to throw down during fashion week, MATTE made the lights go up at Ken Fulk Studios – photographing the breakfast soirée and creating a film recap as photographer Bryant Eslava shot portraits.

That same day, we made sure the team’s shoes were only the freshest as we headed to the meatpacking to meet KITH and Nate Brown at Samsung 837. We've filmed the space there several times before, but never at this scale: Our movie is now in KITH store displays citywide.

We also produced content for the Topshop x Interview Magazine party, designing event signage, stage graphics and a Snapchat geofilter.

‘Til Paris fashion week and the next season,

Avec Amour,

MATTE
