Celebrating Christian Louboutin’s underwriting of Ebony G. Patterson’s most significant exhibition to date “…While the Dew Is Still on the Roses…” at the Pérez Art Museum in Miami, the premier shoe brand and renowned music producer Swizz Beats hosted an intimate cocktail party that tastefully kicked off Art Basel 2018.
MATTE was tasked to design, produce and execute the high energy evening.
A supper-club reimagined, the event married Christian Louboutin’s French roots with Ebony Patterson’s native Caribbean culture to create an all-encompassing evening that embraced the city of Miami ‘transporting’ attendees to ‘Paradise Botanica’.
Greenery mixed with florals were omnipresent from the photo moment to the plant wall sanctuary for those to experience art inspired food, cocktails and enjoy upbeat, highly original performances.
Our creative direction was stylishly grounded in elements reminiscent of Ebony’s artwork through visually arresting installations of floral arrangements and plants, woven into the signature brand colors of pink and red.
Every feature down to the staff attire and entertainment were carefully considered playing into the evening’s vibrant atmosphere.
Design elements such as custom checkered flooring, illuminated plant wall installations, Caribbean-inspired food stations, and retro Miami inspired photo moments transformed the space into a botanical sanctuary.
The lively party featured performances by Paris-based DJ Louise Chen and the genre-blurring, self-described “TrapHouseJazz” musician, Masego.
