AKU MIAMI ART BASEL 2021
WELCOME TO AKU WORLD
MATTE lended experiential, production and creative direction capabilities to bring Aku World to life for the first time during Art Basel in Miami. The weekend-long experiential event kicked off with performances by many noteworthy artists (Aleali May, Pusha-T, Savannah James, plus many more).
Attendees had exclusive access to the Minting Room presented by FTX US, where they created their own 4D-scanned avatar inside the Aku universe—avatars were later minted as NFTs. The experience also included a vast collection of art installations for guests to explore and interact with.
The experience featured a fully immersive, projection-mapped environment inspired by the virtual worlds of Aku.
CRYPTO WALLET ACTIVATION
Guests entered the experience through a futuristic entryway where they were prompted to create an FTX wallet before proceeding to the rest of the experience.
The main event floor featured a 12’ helmet surrounded by an immersive projection-mapped environment inspired by Aku’s world.
Guests were able to enter the helmet for an individual encounter that allowed them to explore deeper into Aku’s world and create a custom NFT based on their experience.
3D HOLOGRAM MERCHANDISE
Hologram boxes featured merchandise in interactive displays that enabled guests to purchase physical goods through digital QR technology.
4D MINTING ROOM
Aku World’s “4D scanner” turned visitors into tokenized metaverse avatars that could be minted on the spot.
